Luxembourg City Film Festival – Film Programmers (Selection Committee Members) (m/f) 

Type of contract : Freelance (contract for a mission in film programming from October 2025 to January 2026, presence during the Festival to be confirmed (March 5–15, 2026). 

The Luxembourg City Film Festival is seeking dedicated and cinephile collaborators to join its selection committee and support the programming team in preparation for the Festival’s 16th edition. 

The Luxembourg City Film Festival is recruiting film programmers to assist the selection process in the following areas: 

-Fiction features 

-Documentary features 

Under the authority of the Festival’s Artistic Director and the Artistic Programme Coordinator, the selected programmers will be responsible for reviewing and analysing proposed films prior to the Festival, in order to assist the programming team in curating a film programme (documentary and fiction) that aligns with the Festival’s artistic and editorial vision. 

PROFIL

-Higher education degree (BAC +3/5) in Film Studies, Cultural Management, or a related field; 

-Strong knowledge of and passion for contemporary cinema (fiction and/or documentary); 

-Ability to analyse films and express evaluations clearly in writing; 

-Proactive, dynamic, and available with a strong sense of initiative; 

-Ability to dedicate time consistently from October 2025 to January 2026; 

-Team-oriented, reliable, and open to discussion; 

MISSION : Under the authority of the Festival’s Artistic Director and the Artistic Programme Coordinator, the selected programmers will be responsible for: 

-Watching and evaluating films submitted for their assigned section (fiction or documentary); 

-Reviewing and analysing films that align with the editorial line and artistic vision of the Festival through our festival platform (Eventival); 

-Making recommendations for different selection categories in line with the Festival’s artistic and editorial vision; 

-Writing concise viewing reports and programming recommendations; 

-Participating in regular programming meetings (online and/or in person); 

-Providing critical input to help shape the final film selection; 

-Provide a written report at the end of the mission.
