For its 2025 Season Closing, LOA sets up its decks in the heart of the former industrial sites between Esch-sur-Alzette and Schifflange. A raw and history-laden setting that has been transformed into a true temple of electronic music. Over the span of two days and on four different stages, more than 40 artists will electrify the old metal-clad grounds with an infectious energy. LOA : A truly immersive festival for electronic music lovers in Luxembourg

Since its launch in 2019 by four passionate individuals – Ivan Cardoso, Felix Hemmerling, Tom Wecker, and Sebastian Jacqué – Luxembourg Open Air (LOA) has established itself as a key event in Luxembourg’s electronic music scene. Driven by the ambitions of its founders, the festival has continuously grown, all while staying true to its core values of innovation, accessibility, and inclusivity, creating a truly unique collective experience.

Beyond a simple music event, LOA delivers a fully immersive experience. Set in iconic urban locations such as the Kirchberg district, Place de l’Europe, and Metzeschmelz, the festival has, for several years, blended the modernity of electronic music and its scenography with historically rich settings. Each edition unfolds as a journey where electronic music and striking stage design come together to create a world of its own, guided by the will to escape the everyday and party to the rhythm of the bass.

While LOA’s DNA is deeply rooted in electronic music, its programming reflects the curators’ discerning taste, shaped by a spirit of curiosity and a will to evolve with new trends. Across its various stages (Mainstage, Rave Cave, TechnoBus, Barrakud), global headliners perform alongside emerging talents, creating a dynamic and diverse lineup that speaks to every electronic music fan. House, Techno, EDM and, even Hardstyle, the full spectrum of electronic music is put in the spotlights, offering something for everyone.

Moreover, special attention is given to the national electronic scene and emerging artists, particularly through a dedicated DJ competition, which offers a spot on the festivals thoughtfully crafted lineup. For this Season Closing 2025, the young Belgian DJ NA:TUS has secured himself a place on the Mainstage and will make the crowd dance to the sound of his powerful and melodic set.

But the LOA experience extends far beyond music. In the vibrant and ever-changing landscape of festivals, LOA stands out through its ability to fully immerse festivalgoers in a bold and original universe. Each edition is a total immersion: from workshops and food courts to striking stage designs and unique venue choices, LOA cultivates an atmosphere that overflows with energy.

A look behind the curtains of LOA

For the organizers, innovation also means being acutely aware of current global challenges. Since its very first edition, LOA has banned closed-loop plastic use and actively promotes sustainable mobility, offering shuttle services. Every logistical aspect, from infrastructure to visitor flow, is carefully planned to minimize the festival's environmental impact and create an unforgettable experience for attendees.

Building this ephemeral world also requires precise management of the complex behind-the-scenes machinery. Always guided by the event’s core values and at the center of it all, is a dedicated team supported by passionate volunteers, who serve as the first faces of the festival and key ambassadors of the festival’s spirit. From technical setup to communication, a strong sense of teamwork drives every element of the organization, reflecting the commitment and hard work poured into the festival all year-round.

In an interview, LOA co-founder Sebastian Jacqué recalls some of his most memorable moments. The inaugural edition in 2019, which featured DJs like Brooks, Mike Williams, and Fedde Le Grand, remains an unforgettable milestone. From the initial build-up to the final set, the emotion of seeing an idea come to life and the enthusiasm of the public, left an indelible mark. Other highlights have since shaped LOA’s history, such as the closing set by the Australian sisters NERVO in 2023, or the electrifying energy of the 2024 edition which included performances of world-known DJs such as Malaa, Vini Vici and Blasterjaxx.

Bringing emotions, human connections, and the common love for electronic music to the forefront, LOA has firmly established itself on the Luxembourg music scene. The 2025 Season Closing, set amidst the iconic industrial backdrop of Metzeschmelz (Esch-sur-Alzette) on the 12th and 13th of September, stands as a striking example of the ambitions and success of the festival. And as the final basslines will fade into the night, LOA Season Closing 2025 will mark the end of a festival season driven by a shared love for music and, behind-the-scenes, the active preparations for a vibrant return.
